Gas projects

Personal information that we hold on our files includes some, or all off the following:

Name, address, phone number(s), email address, name and contact details of someone you’ve nominated to act on your behalf, number of people who live in the home; age of anyone in the household, gender of anyone in the household, number of people in the home during working hours; any benefits you receive; annual net household income; annual housing costs; whether you own your own home.

Legal grounds for processing your data

We need this personal information so that we can process your application for an Assisted Connection Voucher and assess whether you are eligible. This application is our contract with you.

For how long do we hold your personal information

We will hold the personal data on our files for up to eight years. After this time it will be deleted. We need to hold on to this information for reporting purposes to Ofgem, so that we can demonstrate which properties have received Assisted Connection Vouchers and the justification for issuing vouchers. The only information we will retain longer than eight years will be your address, voucher code and details of the gas connection.

With whom do we share your personal data

We have confidentiality agreements with Gas Distribution Network Operators and Independent Gas Transporters and we may pass personal data to them for the purposes of auditing our work. We will not pass your personal data to any other organisations without your permission. The only time we will pass your details on to any other organisation is if we believe there is additional funding that you may be able to claim. If this is the case, then we will ask your permission first and will only pass on your name, address, phone number and email address.

Is your personal information transferred outside the UK or the EEA

No. Your personal information is only held within the UK or European Economic Area.

What should you do if your personal information changes?

You do not need to do anything if your personal information changes. Your application for an Assisted Voucher Connection is based on a point in time. If your application was successful then any changes will not affect your eligibility for an Assisted Gas Connection. If your application was unsuccessful and your personal information changes, then you may wish to reapply.

Do you have to provide your personal information to us

If you do not provide us with your personal information we will not be able to assess whether you are eligible for an Assisted Connection Voucher.
