Northumberland Heat Pump Project
CE provides a management service to deliver fully funded new ASHP heating systems to fuel poor private sector homes (owner occupiers and private rental).
The lead authority is Northumberland County Council and consortium members are, Durham County Council, Hartlepool, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton on Tees Borough Councils.
CE is appointed as the main contractor and manages all aspects of the project from property assessment (EPC) throughout the full process to post install, monitoring the quality of the installations and providing a follow up visit to check that the system is correctly installed and that the customer understands how the system works.

All ASHP equipment is sourced by CE direct from the manufacturer and issued to the installer as part of our funding contribution. Our tender process for installers includes a thorough check of the experience, qualifications and certification of the installers.
We provide home visits to all customers on this project prior to the installer survey visit, to explain the heating system to householders. We provide written information which is left with householders at this visit. For some vulnerable customers we encourage relatives, friends, carers or other professionals to attend this visit, so that they can offer assistance with deciding whether to go ahead.
Installations have been delivered throughout the North East region for the 7 Local Authorities named above.
